Dear performer friends,
I had shared with you my intentions to gather a group of performers to perform spontaneously at a given space and time.
There will be no audience nor documentation.
You can bring some materials although you should not prepare in advance.
Performance should manifest at the encounter.
Where your vulnerability became your guide.
Where the notion of failure or achievement is irrelevant.
and
dinner will be served afterwards

The long-running performance art series ENCOUNTER invites the public to take part in a unique durational performance on the second Sunday of each month from 4–6 PM, where everyone in attendance becomes part of the unfolding work.
Founded by Peruvian artist Mariel Carranza in 2012, ENCOUNTER is a vital platform for spontaneous artistic collaboration in Los Angeles. In this latest gathering, participants will engage in a two-hour durational performance where the boundaries between performer and audience dissolve. There is no preparation, no rehearsal, and no script—only the commitment to be fully present in the space and moment. The event will be followed by a communal dinner from 6–8 PM.
ENCOUNTER creates a place where ritual, task, movement, and improvisation merge, generating unexpected moments of genuine artistic connection. The series emphasizes trust in spontaneity and a commitment to active participation over passive observation.
